In a project of invisible loudspeakers installation we can find 2 situations:

  1. The plasterboard structure is not yet in place. In this case, we can give instructions on how to position the guides so that they perfectly fit the width of the Stealth invisible speaker back boxes.
  2. The plasterboard structure is already in place. In this other case, the guides and plates generally form a 1m x 1m mesh, so additional structures must be added to support the back box and the loudspeakers.

For both cases the process of installing a loudspeaker or sub is the same. To simplify life for installers and save them time, we have available a new tool that allows to leave the loudspeakers installed flush with the plasterboard, avoiding the generation of a bulge in the surface.

In this video we show you how to use it to leave surfaces perfect.

The steps shown in the video are:

  • Start by installing the brackets to secure the back box in place.
  • Next, attach the tool to the back box.
  • Take the back box and tool assembly up to the ceiling and screw the box into the plasterboard.
  • Remove the tool from the back box and add any remaining screws for extra support.
  • Carefully connect the speaker wires.
  • Screw the speakers into the box.
  • Once everything is hooked up, do a sound check to ensure it’s all working.
  • Use self-adhesive nylon mesh tape to seal the joints between the drywall and the speaker.
  • Apply air-drying joint compound and plaster.
  • Let the compound dry completely for 24 hours.
  • Smooth the surface with a sanding pad.
  • Apply a second coat of joint compound, wait another 24 hours, and sand again.
  • For a final touch, apply a third coat of joint compound, let it dry for 24 hours, and sand one last time.
  • Use a flashlight to check for any bulging or sagging areas in the ceiling.
  • Apply a coat of primer.
  • Again, use the flashlight to look for any imperfections after priming.
  • Finish up by painting the ceiling your chosen color.
