Araknis routers are configured with our security best practices by default. We understand every install is different, so we’ve provided the following best practices to help the decision-making process:
- Use a unique admin password for the router’s local user interface. Learn how to make a strong, easy-to-remember password.
- Use OvrC WebConnect.
- If you port forward, avoid default or commonly used ports like 8080 and 7000.
- Keep remote management disabled in the router’s firewall. This setting is not required for OvrC features to work.
- Ensure your router is on the latest firmware.
